Hi Chemistry Enthusiasts,
Are you one of those who wonder why we shed tears while cutting an onion and why a piece of iron takes years to rust while reaction between Sodium Sulphate and Barium Chloride gets completed in seconds and why a hot cup of coffee gets cold if left for some time while a cold cup of coffee does not become hot? I was one of those who questioned little things like these and tried to find reasons for the same. Eventually I had found out that every thing that happens around us has a link to chemical changes and even biological changes in our body has links to simple chemical transformation and elementary bonding like hydrogen bonding being responsible for the helical structure of DNA and that made chemistry fascinating, interesting and fun for me.
This fascination towards chemistry made me complete my masters in chemistry and also take up a teaching job where i can spend my day generating interest in chemistry among students and spread the joy of chemical transformations.
This blog is to share interesting (in fact, everything involving chemistry IS interesting) facts, quotes, challenges, questions etc. of chemistry. We all keep learning throughout our life. This blog is also a platform for me to learn new things from others which I in turn will pass on.
I'll be posting questions which checks the basic concepts of chemistry. I'll also be posting the answers after a week's time.
